About Blue Sky Basin Community Association

About BSBCA

The Blue Sky Basin Community Association (BSBCA) was established to bring residents together in support of thoughtful planning, responsible land use, and informed community participation throughout Blue Sky Basin.

Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, the Association encourages informed participation in planning and zoning decisions that may affect our neighborhoods. By providing timely information and resources, BSBCA helps residents understand important issues and make their voices heard throughout the public decision-making process.

The Association’s first initiative is supporting community engagement regarding the proposed Greystone Estate rezoning. As new issues arise, BSBCA will continue working to inform residents and advocate for responsible land use that reflects the long-term interests of the Blue Sky Basin community.

Mission

The Blue Sky Basin Community Association advocates for appropriate zoning and land-use decisions that preserve the rural, single-family residential character of the Blue Sky Basin. We work to inform and engage the community on planning and zoning matters, support meaningful public participation, and provide relevant information to decision-makers and staff. Our mission is to protect established plans, laws, and constitutional processes while promoting an intensity of use consistent with the undisturbed rustic mountain rural character of our community.

Current Community Initiative

Current Community Initiative

The Blue Sky Basin Community Association was formed in response to the proposed rezoning of the Greystone Estate, a proposal that could have lasting impacts on the Blue Sky Basin community. The application seeks to rezone a portion of the estate to allow a “residential treatment center” for alcohol and drug addiction and mental illness, alongside a psychedelic drug “healing center” – high intensity commercial businesses inconsistent with the long-established rural residential nature of Blue Sky Basin.

The rezoning application will soon enter the public review process, making this an important time for residents to become informed, understand the proposal, and participate in decisions that may affect the rural residential integrity of Blue Sky Basin.

Because planning and zoning decisions can have lasting impacts on neighboring properties and the community as a whole, BSBCA is committed to providing residents with factual information, encouraging informed participation, and helping ensure community voices are heard throughout the public review process.

The No Greystone Rezone initiative serves as the Association’s primary effort to educate residents about the proposal, explain the planning process, and provide opportunities to become involved.
