Working together to preserve the rural residential integrity of Blue Sky Basin through advocacy, education, and community engagement.
The Blue Sky Basin Community Association advocates for appropriate zoning and land-use decisions that preserve the rural, single-family residential character of the Blue Sky Basin. We work to inform and engage the community on planning and zoning matters, support meaningful public participation, and provide relevant information to decision-makers and staff. Our mission is to protect established plans, laws, and constitutional processes while promoting an intensity of use consistent with the undisturbed rustic mountain rural character of our community.
The Blue Sky Basin Community Association was formed in response to the proposed rezoning of the Greystone Estate, a proposal that could have lasting impacts on the Blue Sky Basin community. The application seeks to rezone a portion of the estate to allow a “residential treatment center” for alcohol and drug addiction and mental illness, alongside a psychedelic drug “healing center” – high intensity commercial businesses inconsistent with the long-established rural residential nature of Blue Sky Basin.
The rezoning application will soon enter the public review process, making this an important time for residents to become informed, understand the proposal, and participate in decisions that may affect the rural residential integrity of Blue Sky Basin.
Because planning and zoning decisions can have lasting impacts on neighboring properties and the community as a whole, BSBCA is committed to providing residents with factual information, encouraging informed participation, and helping ensure community voices are heard throughout the public review process.
The No Greystone Rezone initiative serves as the Association’s primary effort to educate residents about the proposal, explain the planning process, and provide opportunities to become involved.
The Blue Sky Basin is in Evergreen, Colorado. Its general boundaries are:
North: Highway 103
South: Mt. Blue Sky
East: Highway 74
West: Mount Blue Sky
But the issues faced in the Blue Sky Basin affect all of Evergreen and residents from other parts of Evergreen should become involved in what could be precedent setting rezoning and planning decisions.
